The Woman in Me

If you have not seen Britney Spears dance around her living room, barely dressed, with secret subdued messages that I calculate only make sense to are not missing out on anything. And I say this with much respect for her because I am a Britney fan. I have always loved her ability to be so effortlessly beautiful and down to earth. Britney wrote a memoir called The Woman in Me. I read the book for hours; I could not put it down. I grew up in the 90s. Britney Spears was the biggest pop star and whether you agree she had talent or not; her ability to perform and entertain an audience is a gift.

I don't relate to her fame, sexual promiscuity at a young age, or her hanging out with Donatella Versace eating delicious food. But-I do identify with her broken heart, rebellion, search for happiness, unhealthy coping mechanisms, and her love for her children. The fact that she did whatever she had to do to be with her babies. Her fight for her kids and the strength she found to overcome the abuse from the people she loved most is admirable.

So, why I am writing about The Woman in ME? Because I want to share with you what God says about you. The woman God called you to be will not make you question your worth, talent, abilities, or compare you to what Suzie Q is doing down the street. God has a unique calling on all our lives. When you find your worth in Jesus Christ and NOT in a relationship, child, career, or material possessions. You find freedom. You feel peace. You have a purpose. A life with purpose, is a life well lived.

  • Psalms 139:14: "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well."

  • Psalms 46:5: "God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day."

  • Philippians 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray for everything.

Proverbs 3:13-18

Happy the person who finds wisdom, the person who acquires understanding for her profit exceeds that of silver, gaining her is better than gold, she is more precious than pearls —nothing you want can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand,

riches and honor in her left. Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace.

She is a tree of life to those who grasp her. whoever holds fast to her will be made happy.
